The body of a 69-year-old man who went missing nearly two months ago has been found.
Sydney Piper was last seen in Chingford Road, Walthamstow, at 12.10pm on Thursday, February 23, after which a missing investigation was launched.
The Metropolitan Police say they recovered a body from woods near the Waterworks Roundabout in Waltham Forest on March 24.
A post-mortem and DNA comparison has now confirmed the body was that of Sydney Piper.
The cause of his death is still unknown, but the police say they are treating it as ‘unexplained’ but ‘non suspicious’.
Sydney’s family have been informed, the police said in a statement.
