BOXING legend Frank Bruno cut the ribbon to open a new health club in Leyton Mills.

The celebrity, who recently suffered a much publicised mental breakdown, looked in the peak of condition when he arrived at the event on Monday to cut the ribbon and celebrate the opening of the Fitness First health club. The star answered questions from the public, took photos with fans and signed autographs.

Andy Rayes, general manager of Fitness First, said: "It was exciting and an honour to have Frank Bruno come and officiate at the opening ceremony of the club.

"Our club offers affordable memberships and great facilities and has a fun atmosphere and we hope to promote within the Leyton community the importance of leading active lifestyles."

The boxer, who is a member of the Fitness First health clubs, said: "I enjoyed the opening ceremony at Fitness First. The health club has great facilities with professional staff and it is a great place for people to go to start an exercise programme or to keep fit."
