A MAN who was spotted with a gun in Leyton turned out to be carrying a plastic toy.
Police received a call from a member of the public around 9pm on June 4, saying they saw a man walking along Goldsmith Road with a handgun tucked into the bottom of his trousers.
Officers attended the scene and arrested the 43-year-old man who was found to be carrying a plastic silver colt style handgun with a black handle. While in custody he was also found to be carrying a stolen driving licence and was arrested for handling stolen goods. The man has been bailed to return to Leyton police station.
