FIFTY young people of Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu and Jewish faiths were invited to a special religious event last week.
The youth day was organised by the Waltham Forest Faith Communities group and aimed to educate young people about the five main faiths in the borough.
The event was supervised by Rev Steven Saxby of the St Peter's-in-the-Forest Church, Walthamstow.
A tour bus took the group to a mosque, a church, a synagogue and a sikh gurdwara around the Leyton, Leytonstone and Walthamstow area.
The group was waved off by Waltham Forest social inclusion leader Cllr Liaquat Ali.
Mr Ali said the trip had worked well in allowing young people to show what their faith meant to them and how it helped them to interact with the wider community.
He added: "The event demonstrated that faith was important in the lives of many young people in the borough and showed that young people of different faiths could learn from each other."
Mayor Michael Lewis spoke with the group after their experience and encouraged people to respect each other's religions.
