SOUTH Loughton Cricket Club rounded off its third season of the ECB youth FUNdamentals programme with an eight-a-side cricket festival at the club’s Roding Road ground on Friday.

Competing this year were two teams from both South Loughton and Wanstead Cricket Club with the home sides sharing the championship.

The final day of fun cricket marked the end of a seven-week FUNdamentals league programme with seven teams taking part.

This winning club, for the second year in succession, was Loughton Cricket Club who received the winner’s shield from Jill Smith, daughter of the late Harold Faragher, the Essex County player and cricket coach.

She presented the trophy to Jagdeep Chaggar, a Loughton player representing the winning team.

Cricket coaching at South Loughton closes down until after Christmas. Full details on facilities at the club for seniors and junior members can be obtained from: southloughton.org.uk
