MARTIN Ling would love another memorable performance from his Orient side at Bristol Rovers this weekend.
The O’s came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at the Memorial Stadium in the League and also took their FA Cup first round replay to penalties, despite only having first ten and then nine men for a large period of the game.
And after ending a three-match losing streak in the league with a hard fought 2-2 draw over high-flying Scunthorpe, Ling believes his men are full of confidence.
He said: “We performed a lot better in the second half and holding a team like Scunthorpe will give the lads plenty of confidence going into the Bristol Rovers game.
“I certainly hope that we can produce a similar performance to the one we put in there [Rovers] last season, because they were two of our best displays of the campaign in the end.
“Coming from 2-0 down at half time to win 3-2 was a brilliant example of the character in the team.
“But I think we showed even more spirit in the FA Cup because to first go down to ten men and then nine, but still take the lead at the start of extra time was an outstanding show of courage and determination.
“Perhaps having spent a lot in the summer they feel they have under achieved a little so far, but we also feel the same and we certainly need to put a win on the board.”
