TERRY'S TALK: Recent performances were in Bristol fashion

AFTER three straight defeats I think we’ve showed an awful lot of character against Scunthorpe and Brighton this week.

Considering the injuries we’ve got at the minute we did extremely well to come back in both games from 2-0 down.

Scunthorpe are a top side and at half time it didn’t look good, but we showed a lot of fight and determination and could have even gone onto win the game in the end.

Boydy has been taking a bit of stick this week, because we think he deliberately had his penalty blocked so he could score from the rebound as it is classed as a goal from open play.

All the lads had been ribbing him because he has only been scoring penalties this season, so we think he did it that way because he was under a bit of pressure.

And he certainly will be if Stephen Purches can finish off chances like he did for our second goal.

A few of us were wondering what he was doing that far forward, but he finished it like a striker and all that watching me in training must have paid off! We also showed a lot of heart against Brighton. Young Harry Baker did really well on his debut.

Of course it was gutting to lose on penalties. In some ways it felt a bit like Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup last season, and it is a little strange that we find ourselves down there this weekend.

When we also came back from 2-0 down to beat them 3-2 in the league they were two of our best performances. Well done to the staff for completing the charity run at the weekend, even if the likes of Smudge and the gaffer came in walking like John Wayne on Monday!
