YOUNG Orient defender Andrew Cave-Brown is finally looking to make his mark at Brisbane Road after being handed his full league debut on Saturday.

The 20-year-old former Norwich man, who had only made two appearances since his summer switch put in a solid display as the O’s rescued a 2-2 draw against Scunthorpe.

And having been given his first league start Cave-Brown is certainly hoping to enjoy a much more active role in the team now.

He said: “It was great to get a league start at last and it was nice to help the team get a good draw in the end.

“I was a little surprised when I found out I was starting, but hopefully now I can continue to take any chances that come my way.

“Of course I was a bit nervous to begin with on Saturday because it was my first league start, but once the game got going I thought I found my feet.

“I was relatively pleased with how it went, but I’m not going to take anything for granted because the gaffer may change it all around again next week.

“So I’ve got to keep working hard in training and in games when I get my chance, but if I’m not playing then I’m not going to start sulking.

“This is a squad game, although ideally you want to play as much as possible.”

Reflecting on his chances of retaining his place at Bristol Rovers on Saturday, he add: “I’m not sure what the manager is thinking.

“He may decide to bring Aiden [Palmer] back in I don’t know, but if I do play hopefully I can make the most of the opportunity.”
