Bristol Rovers 2
Leyton Orient 1
(League One)
LEYTON Orient couldn't repeat last season's heroics at Bristol Rovers as their winless streak stretched to six games.
The O's - who fought back from two down to win 3-2 at the Memorial Stadium in the corresponding fixture last season - were made to pay for their defensive frailties as they surrendered the lead to two set pieces.
It all looked rosy for O's when Jason Demetriou's cross was put through his own net by Rovers defender Danny Coles just seconds into the second half.
But Coles made amends on 61 minutes when he headed home Stuart Campbell's cross to put his side on level terms.
And Campbell turned provider again nine minutes later, sending in a cross for Craig Hinton to head home his side's winner.
Ryan Jarvis went close to salvaging a point for O's with a 20-yard free kick that cannoned back off the crossbar.
Adam Chambers and Luke Ashworth also both came close to equalising in stoppage time but Rovers held out.
Orient: Morris, Purches, Thelwell, Saah, Cave-Brown (Ashworth 76), Terry, Demetriou, Chambers, Melligan (Morgan 76), Boyd, Jarvis (Dawkins 76). Subs: Jones, Palmer.
