BEATING Sunderland was a great result.
The pressure was on. We knew we had to get a win and we came up with the goods.
Credit has to go to Greeny for his save from Leadbitter. If it wasn't for him - and his fine form at the moment - maybe we wouldn't have got that win.
And it also was great to see Carlton Cole score his first goal of the season. What a great header it was, especially after that sitter he missed a few weeks back.
It was one of the best feelings that I've had in a long while to see my good pal score. He's been getting stick from the fans, but I know the hard work he's put in and he stepped up to the plate, showed his character and set the team on the way to a win.
I've been there, it's hard to play when your home fans are giving you a bit of stick. But it's part of the job and we're all confident in his ability.
Nolberto Solano and Boa Luis Boa Morte also gave us a bit of life when they came on. Nolberto's got a wonderful right foot and he can create anything with it.
We haven't seen enough of him in training because he's been away on international duty a lot. But from what we have seen, his right foot is a wonder.
And his trumpeting skills aren't bad either! Most people know he's in a band, but what they don't know is that Jonathan Spector is a trumpet player too.
The pair of them have been going at it toe-to-toe at the training ground.
Nolberto was a bit rusty when he brought his trumpet out, but they're definitely alright. I got a run out at the end of the game against Sunderland.
Obviously, I was disappointed that I didn't start.
But that's the beauty of West Ham - the strength of the squad and the competition for places.
I'll work hard and I'll fight for my place. It doesn't matter whether I'm starting, on the bench, or in the squad come Saturday, I'll still be 100 per cent involved. I wish the boys the best of luck with all my heart.
And when my chance comes, whether it's at Portsmouth, or in a few games, I'll take it.
