PREMIER League new-boys West Brom are reported to have failed in an bid for West Ham defender James Collins.
A report in the Birmingham Mail, claims the Baggies made a move for the Welsh international, but manager Tony Mowbray's advances were knocked back by the former Cardiff man.
Mowbary, had initially wanted to take Collins on-loan at the Hawthorns, with a view to making the deal permanent.
But the defender, who is recovering from a major knee injury still sees his future at Upton Park, and would rather fight to gain a place in Alan Curbishley's team.
